Reno Pet Sitter Services & Rates

Care you can trust, comfort they know

Providing professional pet sitting services in Reno since 2007. I’m insured and licensed to conduct business in the City of Reno, giving you peace of mind knowing your pets and home are being cared for by an established professional pet sitter.

To keep my travel time manageable and provide reliable care to my clients, my pet sitting service area is limited to 89509 and 89519.

Drop-in pet sitting (dogs & cats)

I provide drop-in pet sitting visits for pets who are most comfortable staying in their own home.

A complimentary Meet & Greet is required for all new clients and must be scheduled at least 5 days prior to your departure. This gives me an opportunity to meet you and your pets, review the care routine, and make sure we’re a good fit before services are confirmed.

Please note: Scheduling a Meet & Greet does not guarantee acceptance of a pet sitting reservation.

Is drop-in care the right fit?

Drop-in visits are ideal for independent, low-maintenance pets who are comfortable being alone between visits—such as cats, adult dogs with flexible routines, and small caged animals.

Drop-ins may not be the best option for:

  • Pets with severe separation anxiety
  • Pets who become destructive when left alone
  • High flight-risk animals
  • Pets that need 24-hour care

In these cases, overnight sitting (with a sitter who can stay in your home) or a boarding facility is often a better and safer fit. My goal is always to ensure your pet is happy, safe, and well cared for—choosing the right type of care is key.

How many visits does your pet need?

  • One visit per day: Often used for low-maintenance pets (cats/small animals) needing feeding, litter cleaning, and a quick check-in. Also suitable for dogs with a doggy door, short work days, or the departure/arrival days of a trip.
  • Two visits per day: For low-maintenance, older, or highly independent dogs with yard access or pee pads. Typically morning/evening for meals, water, medication, and a potty break.
  • Three visits per day: Morning, midday, and evening—helps keep pets on their regular routine.
  • Four visits per day: Available on a very limited basis and subject to availability. Because visits must be spaced throughout the day, four-visit schedules may not be available during busy periods, holidays, or when my schedule is already committed to other clients.

What’s included with a visit (standard drop-in care)

What I do during visits is based on your instructions and what can be completed safely within the scheduled visit time.

Common visit care includes:

  • Meal prep per your instructions
  • Fresh water at each visit
  • Wash food and water bowls daily
  • Administer medication (oral and topical only) and give supplements
  • Brush fur / teeth
  • Indoor pet accident clean-up
  • Yard waste clean-up of pet waste made during my service period only
  • Backyard playtime, or indoor play with a favorite toy
  • Daily litter box scooping; add litter as needed; sweep/vacuum loose litter around the box
  • Treats given, per your instructions
  • Ear rubs, belly scratches, lots of love and one-on-one attention
  • Daily text/photo updates

Basic home-care support (as part of standard visits):

  • Curbing and returning trash and recycling cans
  • Mail, newspaper, and package collection
  • Light plant watering
  • Alternate lights and window coverings
  • Leave the TV/radio on for your pet

Dog walking (when appropriate and safe):

  • Leashed neighborhood walk, weather and road conditions permitting (leash-trained dogs only)
  • Two dogs max per walk—they must walk well together; otherwise an additional fee will apply for separate walks
  • Absolutely no retractable leashes

Visit options, rates, and scheduling windows

Please note: Visit rates reflect more than the time spent in your home. Travel time, scheduling, communication, visit updates, and other time associated with providing professional pet care are part of each scheduled visit.

New client consultation (Meet & Greet)

We’ll meet in your home so I can get to know you and your pets, and ensure we’re a great fit for one another. Each new client receives one complimentary enrollment meeting.

If additional visits are needed to review updates to your pet’s routine or home care, they can be scheduled at the standard 30-minute visit rate.

Please have an up-to-date copy of your pet’s rabies certificate available at the meeting. Nevada law requires all dogs and cats over 12 weeks of age to be vaccinated for rabies, including indoor-only cats.

At this time, I’m unable to care for dogs who require crating. If your dog must be crated overnight, I recommend choosing a sitter who can stay in your home.

Typical visit windows

  • 2 visits per day: Morning 7–10 AM | Evening 4–7 PM
  • 3 visits per day: Morning 7–10 AM | Midday 11 AM–2 PM | Evening 5–8 PM
  • 4 visits per day: Morning 7–9 AM | Midday 11 AM–1 PM | Late afternoon 3–5 PM | Evening 7–9 PM

15-minute drop-in visit (complimentary)

A quick visit designed for pets needing basic care rather than a full pet sitting visit—ideal for a midday or bedtime potty break, quick feeding, fresh water, or other simple care needs.

This visit works best as an additional visit alongside longer scheduled visits, and when your pet’s needs can comfortably be completed within 15 minutes. Because every pet and routine is different, 15-minute visits are available when appropriate based on your pet’s individual needs.

Not included with 15-minute visits: home-care services like mail retrieval or bringing trash/recycling carts out or back in.

Up to 30-minute drop-in visit — $32 per visit

A 30-minute visit provides dependable, personalized care for your pets while keeping them comfortable in their own home.

Each visit includes feeding, fresh water, medications, potty breaks, litter box care, playtime, companionship, a dog walk (when appropriate), and basic home services such as bringing in mail and packages, adjusting lights or blinds, and taking trash bins in or out as needed.

Rates include care for up to 3 pets. Maximum of 3 pets per household.

Up to 45-minute drop-in visit — $42 per visit

Everything included in the 30-minute visit, with a little extra time for pets who benefit from a longer walk, additional playtime and companionship, or a more relaxed pace.

Rates include care for up to 3 pets.

Maximum of 3 pets per household.

Dog walks (during scheduled visits)

A walk is included when appropriate for your dog and can be safely completed within the scheduled visit time. If multiple dogs do not walk well together, pull excessively, or are highly vocal toward other dogs, separate walks may be required. Because separate walks require additional time, an additional fee will apply.

Holiday fee

A $10 holiday fee per visit applies to pet sitting services scheduled on:

  • Thanksgiving: Wednesday, Thanksgiving Day & Friday
  • Christmas: Christmas Eve & Christmas Day
  • New Year’s: New Year’s Eve & New Year’s Day
  • Other holidays: Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, Independence Day & Labor Day

Holiday pet sitting is in high demand and availability is limited. Early booking is recommended.

Pooper scooper service (Monday–Friday)

Say goodbye to poopy problems with my weekly pooper scooper service—never deal with dog poop cleanup again.

  • This is a stand-alone service.
  • Pooper scooper service is included with pet sitting.
  • Excluding holidays.

Multiple visits per week (per visit)

Good to know before booking (policies & safety)

Secured areas

Clients are responsible for ensuring the home, yard, fencing, gates, pet doors, and other accessible areas are safe and properly secured before leaving. Please tell me in advance about any known issues with locks, gates, fencing, or anything that could affect safety or my ability to provide care.

Alarm systems

If your home has an alarm system, please provide complete instructions (codes, passwords, procedures) and ensure everything is working before pet sitting begins. Clients are responsible for any charges, fees, or fines resulting from false alarms or alarm issues.

Schedule changes

Please let me know as soon as possible if travel plans or care needs change. Once services have been scheduled, changes (additional visits, extended dates, frequency changes) are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed.

If you return home early, notify me promptly so I know your pets are back in your care. Visits that are no longer needed are subject to the cancellation policy and may not be eligible for a refund or credit.

Special requests

I’m happy to accommodate reasonable special requests when possible—please discuss them before pet sitting begins so I can confirm there’s adequate time during scheduled visits. Requests that require additional time, added responsibilities, or changes to what was scheduled may require a longer visit or an additional fee and are subject to availability.

Job sharing / other access to the home

For the safety of your pets and home, I do not share pet sitting responsibilities with friends, neighbors, or other pet sitters during a scheduled service period (an exception may be made for immediate family members if discussed and agreed upon in advance).

If anyone else will be entering your home while you are away, please tell me before pet sitting begins. I can’t be responsible for your pets’ care or the security of your home when another person has access during your absence.

Regular service providers (housekeepers, gardeners, maintenance professionals) may continue their normal schedules; however, I cannot assume responsibility for pets or property while others are present or have access to the home.

Inclement weather

I will always prioritize your pet’s safety, but I must also consider road conditions and my ability to travel safely. During severe weather or emergency conditions (heavy snow, icy roads, flooding, wildfire, poor air quality, road closures, etc.), visit times may need to be adjusted. Visits may be shortened, delayed, or—if I cannot safely reach your home—canceled.

Please plan ahead to ensure I can safely access your home during winter weather (clear driveways, walkways, steps, and entrances as reasonably possible).

Cancellations

If you need to cancel, please let me know as soon as possible so I can adjust my schedule.

  • No cancellation fee for reservations canceled before services begin.
  • Once services have started, scheduled visits that are no longer needed due to early return or travel changes are non-refundable and will not be credited toward future services.
  • Frequent or last-minute cancellations may affect my ability to accept future reservations.

Emergency contact (strongly encouraged)

Please designate a local emergency contact who is available while you’re away and who can access the home and care for your pets if needed. Your emergency contact should have a key or lockbox access and be familiar with your pets’ basic care.

This person may be contacted if I cannot safely reach your home (severe weather, road closures, wildfire, personal emergency, or other unforeseen circumstances). Please ensure emergency contact info is current before each reservation.

Pet messes

Accidents happen. I will clean up reasonable pet-related messes during visits (potty accidents, spilled food/water, litter tracking). Please provide appropriate cleaning supplies and let me know where they are kept.

Excessive or repeated messes may require additional time beyond the scheduled visit and may result in an additional fee. I can’t be responsible for stains, damage, or messes that occur between visits.

Pet supplies

Please ensure you have enough food, medications, litter, treats, waste bags, and other essentials for the entire time you’ll be away. If supplies run out, I will make a reasonable effort to purchase what’s needed to continue care. Clients are responsible for reimbursement of purchases and any additional time/travel required. Whenever possible, I will contact you before making a purchase.

Dog behavior & safety

Dogs can behave differently when family is away. All dogs must be comfortable with my presence and allow safe entry and care. I will not provide care for dogs that display aggressive, threatening, or unsafe behavior toward me (attempts to bite, lunge, corner me, or prevent safe movement in the home).

If a dog’s behavior changes during service and I can’t safely provide care, I will contact you and your emergency contact so alternate arrangements can be made. Please disclose any history of aggression, biting, resource guarding, reactivity, or other safety concerns before pet sitting begins. Safety must always come first.

Dog walking guidelines

Walks may be included when appropriate for your dog’s needs and behavior. Dogs must be manageable on leash and not display aggressive or unsafe behavior toward people or other animals. For safety, I do not walk dogs that pull excessively or are highly leash-reactive.

Please provide a properly fitted collar or harness and a standard 4- or 6-foot leash. Retractable leashes and choke or prong collars will not be used. A no-pull harness or Gentle Leader may be recommended when appropriate.

Walks may be shortened or replaced with a potty break, yard time, or indoor enrichment due to weather, temperature, air quality, wildlife activity, or other unsafe conditions.

Cat behavior

For fearful or hiding cats, I’ll always respect their space and comfort level. After completing necessary care and confirming your cat is safe and doing well, there may be no benefit to staying if my presence is causing stress. For this reason, visits with shy/fearful cats may occasionally be shorter than the scheduled visit time. The full scheduled rate still applies; no credit is given for shortened visits.

Vaccines (rabies)

All dogs and cats must be current on their rabies vaccination (including indoor-only pets) unless a veterinarian has provided a medical exemption. Clients are responsible for keeping vaccination information current and providing documentation upon request.

Pet photos/videos

I may take photos or short videos during visits to share with you and, occasionally, on my website or social media. If you prefer that photos/videos not be shared publicly, let me know—your preference will be respected.

Pet emergencies

If there is an illness, injury, or medical concern, I will make every reasonable effort to contact you and follow the veterinary instructions and emergency information you’ve provided. If I believe your pet needs immediate medical attention and I can’t reach you, I am authorized to seek veterinary care on your behalf (regular vet or an appropriate emergency facility). Clients are responsible for all veterinary expenses and related costs. Please ensure your veterinarian, emergency contact, and pet medical information are current before travel.
